Components for motorhomes - lightweight, robust and tailor-made

The production of outer skin parts for motorhomes has been a central focus of C.F. Maier-TEC for many years. Our main products are large-format VEX components that are completed by assembling windscreens, lights and mechanisms such as windshield wipers to form complete, ready-to-install systems. These VEX components enable weight savings of up to 40% compared to conventional processing methods, without sacrificing stability.

In addition, the VEX componentsoffer excellent insulation and surface properties, such as outstanding thermal insulation and weather resistance, which meet the high demands of the caravan and motorhome sector.

In addition to the VEX process, the hand laminate and RTM processes are also used depending on the requirements and sizes needed.

Production methods for motorhome components


We primarily use the vacuum expansion process (VEX) to manufacture our outer skin parts, as it offers high precision and excellent insulation. This process makes it possible to produce excellently insulated outer skin parts with smooth surfaces on both sides. Thanks to the gelcoat layer, additional painting is often not necessary. Nevertheless, we also offer special colors and metallic shades on request, which are applied using environmentally friendly water-based paint systems. This ensures optimum color consistency on different substrates such as GRP, ABS and aluminium.

The sandwich construction with PUR foam cores also offers the option of integrating cables, hoses, pipes, furniture anchors as well as wood, metal and plastic elements directly into the components. This results in visual concealment of the components, saves assembly time and increases overall production efficiency, which ultimately contributes to faster completion and improved customer satisfaction.

Flexibility for special requirements


For smaller production quantities, we use the hand laminating process, which can also integrate insulation made of PUR molded foam on request. For special material requirements, we also use the thermoforming process, for example to produce components made of acrylic glass.

In addition to production, we offer a range of additional services, including assembly work such as gluing in panes, pulling in cables and foaming in aluminum sheets and pipes. We also apply fabric laminations to the inside of the components. We are also happy to take on the complete assembly of components in order to offer our customers a comprehensive solution. In addition, we have a well-established delivery logistics system that enables just-in-time (JIT) and just-in-sequence (JIS) deliveries directly to the customer's assembly line on request.
